Do you desire a nice upgrade of your factory speakers, are you looking for a Sound Quality overall of speakers, subwoofers and amplifiers, or are you designing a vision-blurring SPL machine? It is important to make a list of exactly what you are looking to replace or add to your audio system so that you can prepare your electrical system for the investment to come. Many people do not realize that their vehicles factory electrical system was not designed for aftermarket audio equipment. In fact, most factory electrical systems can only handle an audio system of 600 to 1200 watts. The lower end of the scale being the smaller vehicles and most foreign rides, and the upper end being large trucks and sport utility vehicles. As you increase demand, you need to look at upgrading your battery, alternator and most importantly your Big 3. THE BIG 3 The Big 3 consists of upgrading three wires under the hood of your vehicle. It is important to make a list of exactly what you are looking to replace or add to your audio system so that you can prepare your electrical system for the investment to come. Many people do not realize that their vehicles factory electrical system was not designed for aftermarket audio equipment. In fact, most factory electrical systems can only handle an audio system of 600 to 1200 watts. The lower end of the scale being the smaller vehicles and most foreign rides, and the upper end being large trucks and sport utility vehicles. Before everything goes digital, I'm going to show you how to make your OWN functional Speaker capable SW Radio in less than 5 minutes! Just watch, and I'll show you HOW to make your very OWN radio!. All you need is the following (you can get it on eBay for less than 2 dollars if you shop around): 1x 100 ohm Speaker, 200k Resistor, LM741 Op-Amp (or compatible), 220uF Electrolytic Capacitor, 10 nF capacitor, 15 pF Capacitor and a 47 pF capacitor, a Small cheap BreadBoard + some standard 1-core wire for Breadboard (find this at RadioShack or somewhere else). And a 9 volt battery. The components aren't critical, meaning you can easily use 270K or 180K instead of 200k resistor, or 100uF to 400uF electrolytic capacitor etc. Just find what you have, and connect it as I did...and it'll work for you!

Our 20+year old Aiwa system was nearly worn out, costing £500 back then! We wanted something smaller but with no compromise on sound quality. Using the whathifi.com forums I eventually selected a Denon DM37DAB with Wharfedale Diamond 9.1 speakers. These are front ported so no 'boom' as they are on shelves. Just as important is good speaker cable and for this I used. QED Qudos Silver anniversary cable (£4.46 per meter) I needed a total of 10 meters /2 for each speaker. I bought all this from superfi.co.uk The total cost was just £354.16 Very rapid delivery having been ordered on-line on Sunday evening, it arrived Tuesday afternoon. This video lets you see how I got on and shows (I hope) How simple the units were to set up. The video camera can not of course produce the same sweet warm sound we now have! On offer now Jan 2010. www.superfi.co.uk Issues discovered: Soon found out speaker terminals are wrongly wired with left being right and VV. Headphone output correct however. One year later a loud annoying mains hum has developed on the headphone output :-(

I'm pretty sure my subs were still running at 2 ohms but they were hooked up the wrong way . This is the right way to hook 2 4 ohm subwoofers up @ 2 ohms. Thanks For Watching. Made this video while upgrading my saber from the first video with ultrasound 2.5. I've ordered most of the parts at JQ sabers. I've had the parts anodized local in Belgium, but JQ offers that service too. Parts : Basic push-button, Ultrasound PCB, Luxeon III LED (Amber), LED mounting peace with some thermal tape for Luxeon III LED's, 4x1,5V AA battery holder, speaker 8 Ohm, speaker holder, black and red wiring 0,2 mm, heat shrink, "kill switch" with kill plug and a heavy duelling blade. Keep in mind that the video is played between 200% to 400% speed to keep it under 10 minutes. The assembly itself took me about 4 to 5 hours. The components needed a little adjusting here and there, but it was mostly soldering and wiring the electronics. I purchased a low cost, actually the lowest priced surround sound system that Wal-Mart had on the market. I think it was about 5.00 range. I cut in to the sheetrock and built in the system with the DVD player. It really sits in the closet of the bathroom now. Sure the Watts. are low on this low cost system, but really how much sound does one require for a master bedroom? - Anyways I cut the sheetrock and ran the wires behind the wall, then under the baseboards. I put the sub wof. under the bed. On a scale of 1- 10 I give this low cost project a 9 1/2 due to the simple fact that it looks very custom, did not cost any money, and give a great sound for pennies on the dollar. Patching the sheetrock from running the wires was the hardest part, and was took more time rather than hard work. This is proof that you can have a surround system that wont break your pocket book. Hope this helps, and remember that you can always purchase one or two steps above the low cost unit that I have and be happy. ( Total cost was as follows: System 5.00 Cables .00 Sheetrock supplies .00 Paint .00 Wood trim .00 and some personal work that took a few days.

It's that time again folks! Going back to a wall.....but this time it's a clamshell Gonna be a pretty decent sized build......but the thing is it has to be done by Nov.4! Bass Battles Finals in Webster,TX....down by Houston. Best show i have ever been to....and this year DAD has a booth set-up there.So the shell and shit is pretty much done besides the roof and back wall.....we will have about 35 cubes net left after all displacement. Gonna tune this thing @ 32hz(possibly 30.....still debating) Shell is 2 layers of 3/4 birch so far. Gonna be upgrading from 2 Crescendo BC3500's to 2 5500's strapped @ 2ohm. Charging system will be a DC Power 270xp and 10 Alpha Cell 180GXL's for reserve.Adding more runs of power wire....and possibly attaching that to my nipples. There's a bunch of other shit but i'll post all that as it comes along. Oh yeah....subs are 8 DAD BD 15's
